The population of Sioux Falls is approximately 178,500 as of 2016. The city was chartered in 1856. Sioux Falls connects both major interstates, I-29 and 1-90. There is I-229 which is an interstate directly around the city which helps residents get from one side of the city to another much quicker. The city is just 10 miles from the Iowa border and about 15 miles to the Minnesota border.
